Hello everyone,
Today was a busy day for me. First, I had class from 9:25am-12:05pm. Right after that, I had an interview with Target for a full time job after I graduate. This was my first real life job interview for after graduation. I have a lot of interview experience because of all of the job interviews I have had for on-campus jobs, but I was more nervous for this interview because this was for a position outside of New Paltz and the “real world”.
I am applying for a position as an Executive Team Leader at Target and from what I hear about the position it is the perfect job for me. The job is all about being a leader and being able to manage a group of people and making sure that everything gets done correctly. The whole process consists of three interviews and this was the first step. I should know in 1-2 weeks if I made it through to the next round.
Immediately after my interview, I helped out with the presidential inauguration that was held on campus today. President Donald P. Christian was officially being inaugurated as the new president of SUNY New Paltz. It was a privilage to help with and be a part of this event because something like this does not happen very often. Many people from New Paltz and many other schools attended the inauguration. These people included professors, faculty, staff, and other college presidents.
After the inauguration, there was a reception held in the Student Union multi-purpose room. There was a lot of nice food there and I was allowed to have some because I helped out with the event. During the reception, there was a toast made in honor of our new president.
Overall I had a busy day, but it was a lot of fun. Now I am going to take a nap, even though it’s on 5pm, and get some work done before my long day of tours tomorrow.
Good Night
