“Make him famous” -Invisible Children

Hey Readers!

Today was the Student Art Alliance Bus Trip to New York City. SOFA NY, which is a Sculpture Object and Functional Art exhibition, was held this weekend and students had the choice to use the trip to go to the exhibition or visit the Museum of Art and Design. Only a few students attended the trip today though and most of them are part of the Metal department. I had a fun time spending the day with my friends though and this was my first time at SOFA NY. I was slightly disappointed by the small size of the event and under impressed by the work. I did find a few things I really liked as well as hear different people talk about jewelry and work.  I was especially drawn into the glasswork displayed today and I recognized some jewelry pieces from slide shows during classes.  Also there were many art works for sale with a price tag greater than the tuition for college.

On Friday night I participated in Cover The Night, held by the Invisible Children organization. We hung these posters and stickers around town and campus to make KONY famous.

Until Next Time!
