TIL: Finals Week Is Here

It’s here. One of the most feared weeks known to man: Finals Weeks. This is one of the most demanding weeks in the eyes of us college kids. We’re not always on the academic track, lets face it we wanna have fun, but this is the one week we all acknowledge work has to get done. We have one week to finish up all our classes with tests and essays. This is a week of studying and that’s how it should be! I only say this because I need to get my study on… Continue reading

TIL: Ice Cream is the Best Way To Recognize Someone!

So I got the opportunity to do another program with DubStep Into Leadership this past Monday. It was called Ice Cream Recognition. It is a program dedicated to helping you learn how to recognize yourself and others using Ice Cream as a medium! A key part of this was the fact that the program was put on with NRHH! TIL: THEY HAVE CHICKEN NUGGETS IN HASBROUCK!

I feel like shouting this from the rooftops! Chicken nuggets are one of my favorite foods ever! I wasn’t even planning on going to Hasbrouck today if it wasn’t for two of my brothers, Steven and EV. Like I can’t even put into words how happy I was to be eating this today. I think EV topped me however. He was so energetic walking in there. He even taught me the epic combination of barbecue sauce and honey mustard! It was beyond delicious! They do this very rarely and I look forward to it when they do!

TIL: Spirit Weekend Can Change Everything

Howdy y’all!

So here comes part 2: Spirit Weekend!

What is Spirit Weekend? Spirit Weekend is a combination of awesomeness and ewpic times! It’s broken down into 3 days:

Day 1! I’ve talked about Buzz berfore (fun karaoke timez) so I won’t tell you about that, but I will say that there was such a huge turnout for this Buzz. One hall alone brought 30 people! The real focus of this day was penny wars. Penny wars is a way for halls to raise money for a certain cause, this year it was the Make a Wish Foundation. They do this by trying to get the most pennies out of all 13 halls and commuters. It’s not that simple however. Silver coins count as negative points. If they had any silver in their jars they lost points. To make it worse we also had sabatoge cups/bowls at the events.  Since it was all due at Buzz it was no surprise that we had tons of jars full of pennies. I put the sabatoge bowls out and after 5 minutes there were halls that had their bowls overflowing. I gotta say it was interesting seeing everyone so into this part! We managed to raise over $700 for the cause! Congrats to Scudder for winning Penny Wars! Continue reading

TIL: How To Give Blood

Howdy everyone! It’s been a while since I last posted and a lot has happened! I think I’ll be doing a double feature (dun dun dunnn).

Part 1: Blood Drive on campus.

Part 2: Spirit Weekend!

So let’s begin! This week my fraternity, Kappa Delta Phi, hosted a two day blood drive. It was held in the Student Union’s Multi-Purpose Room (If you decide to attend here you’ll be in here a few times!). Now this is a huge room maybe the size of a gym. It was divided into 4 areas: Iron testing, wait area, donation area, and my favorite the juice and cookie area!

The basic process goes a little like this: Continue reading
