Hi All !
My junior year cross country season has ended! Although sad, it is a big weight off my shoulders. Balancing sports and academics can be tough at times but it is worth it in the end. My final race was the Atlantic Regional Championship, the most important race of the season… it did not go as planned. It seems that physically I ran out of gas and could not qualify for nationals. My extreme disappointment is hard to overcome, but as a strong athlete, I have to continue working hard to make my dream come true next year.

After reviewing the season with my coach, we discovered more up’s then downs. I was able to achieve All-SUNYAC and the 2nd fastest 6k time run by a New Paltz woman. Sometimes it can seem like your sport is everything but remembering that school comes first can slip away at times!
Post-season it is important for athletes to keep up training on their own and that means us women getting into the gym and lifting weights! After all our hard work, it is important to take about a week off from running completely to revitalize the body and mind. AND eat all the food I want ! That means a lot of chocolate
Next week is our Thanksgiving break! I am looking forward to coming home for a week and relaxing. I haven’t been home since the beginning of the semester!
Things I am looking forward to…
That’s all for now!!! @NPBloggerAmanda
